Work environments as a marketplace for innovation
The world of work is growing more complex and diverse by the hour. It operates in a flexible and multidimensional network of people, organizations and processes. Work environments evolve into platforms for social interaction, collaboration and identification. They serve as spaces for informal encounters, communication as well as for focus retreats, fostering creativity and innovation.
Work processes are becoming more and more hybridized – an interlacing of the analog and the digital realm with the physical boundaries between formerly separate functional areas being dissolved. In applying the tools of the Programming® method, we analyze the communication structures in place and use them to design suitable spatial solutions and floor plan organizations. Doing so, we continuously integrate technical findings and changing requirements such as post-covid or agile working considerations into our workplace concepts.
Understanding processes
In workshops and interviews with users, stakeholders and management, we assess the demands of all parties involved and define common goals for suitable work environments. Whether open space or focus retreat – we consider different work typologies and analyze internal communication processes from which we derive individual spatial requirements and programs.
Translating into spaces
Based on the results of our assessment and our interior design expertise, we devise strategic workplace concepts, layouts and test fits and visualize these right from an early stage. As we proceed through the design process, we review issues such as user visibility, visual connections and proximity between user groups, as well as lighting and acoustic conditions. Out of these findings, we develop future-proof workplace concepts that provide optimal support to the people and organizations in their work practices.
Optimize continuously
Once the users have moved into the building, we follow up with the client to ensure the continued improvement of the new work environment. To gain an understanding of how the offices are used, we apply a variety of data-driven technologies and conduct user satisfaction surveys. Based on these results, we identify measures to further optimize the workplace conditions.
