Envision

The design conceived for the four new office and production facilities of Envision, a Chinese supplier of wind turbines and energy management software, adopts a uniform approach across all sites, involving hybrid building structures and a minimalist façade design.

At the Chifeng, Yulin, Shiyan and Ordos sites, research, administration, and representational exhibition spaces are closely interlinked. The design for the production facilities and office building with integrated exhibition in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, includes the master plan and façade. The building was completed in 2022 and serves as a model for the other sites. The straight-line silhouette and emblematic panelized façade form the leitmotif for all locations, creating a consistent visual identity for the company.

For visitors and employees alike, the Ordos office complex functions as a portal to the manufacturing facility, which produces batteries for electric cars and trucks.

Envision’s collaboration with the local government meant that the corporate headquarters had to be given an exceedingly prestigious appeal, which the design reflects. A planted courtyard divides the single-story complex featuring floor-to-ceiling heights of up to 7.20 meters into two parts. This is where the main entrance is located through which visitors enter a VIP reception area with an adjoining exhibition space referred to as the Cloud Center. Employees access their workplaces on the opposing side of the courtyard or through a separate entrance on the east side. A glazed corridor bridges the gap between the visitor and work areas and connects to the production facility.

Glazed cutouts in the panelized aluminum façade establish a link between inside and outside, between the protected and publicly accessible spheres. Natural lighting also enhances the well-being of employees.

All company sites designed by HENN follow a common, integrated principle. They combine production, office, and exhibition spaces, supporting Envision in shaping the future of renewable energy generation and storage.
